Who Is Alpine Powerhouse For?

At Alpine Powerhouse, we are definitely not your high school gym. And we’re not like the other gyms in the Reno area either!

We don’t like judgment, negative attitudes, drama, unhealthy egos, or cliques.

Despite my upbringing around professional athletes, I was a pretty scrawny - some would say nerdy - kid growing up. I was introduced to the gym area in my little apartment complex in middle school. But it wasn’t until high school that I really learned what the gym was about. That was largely thanks to great coaches, culture, and great friends!

The gym, and fitness in general, changed my life for the better after that. I was still a nerdy awkward kid at heart, but I gained a lot of confidence in life. I had a great baseline of knowledge, and a drive to learn even more! I could better handle stress, and it gave me that extra bit of structure in my life as well.

That love of challenging myself in the gym brought me to the lacrosse field for UNR, and kept me healthy and allowed me to succeed in a career in firefighting, and eventually led me to start Alpine Powerhouse!

Here we believe that every body is an athlete. That exercise is a celebration of what you can do, and a way of building that confidence for life! We don’t believe that it should be a strict place where you get punished for not eating the right way.

Our philosophy is that in order to be motivated to work out, you need to find something that you love to do, and a group of positive people to cheer you on and celebrate your wins with!

We believe in steady progress, not perfection. Growth is not a linear path after all.

We believe in making sure you’re happy and here again tomorrow as well.

We have been lucky enough to not have any “gym jerks” here. And as the owner they will never be allowed at Alpine Powerhouse. The “I’m-better-than-everyone” garbage has no place here.

I’m aware that means Alpine Powerhouse will never be the biggest gym in Reno. But because of the people under our roof, and our coaching staff, we will be the best in town!
